Assessment Overview
Understand how the assessment works and how behavioural data is captured through interactive tasks.
Overview
The Begini Psychometric Assessment is a mobile-first behavioural assessment that captures how users think, decide and interact — rather than relying on self-reported answers. Users complete a sequence of short interactive tasks designed to generate reliable behavioural signals, which are processed into structured risk outputs.
This allows lenders to assess applicants with limited or no formal credit history in a consistent and scalable way.
What makes it different
Traditional credit scoring depends on historical financial data which is often incomplete, unavailable or unreliable in emerging markets. The Begini assessment measures behaviour directly — capturing how users act under different conditions rather than what they claim about themselves. This makes the data harder to manipulate and more consistent across applicant populations.
What the assessment captures
During the session, Begini captures:
- Decision-making patterns and risk-taking behaviour
- Response timing and variability
- Consistency across tasks
- Engagement and completion behaviour
- Session-level interaction metadata
This creates a rich behavioural dataset beyond simple question-and-answer formats.
Outputs
A completed and scored assessment produces:
- Risk score — the primary output, representing relative risk based on behavioural patterns
- Behavioural trait indicators — component-level insights explaining the score
- Trust / confidence score — a reliability indicator for the session (see Fraud Detection & Trust Score)
- Completion metadata — timestamps, platform, session identifiers
Results are available in Beacon or delivered in real time via webhooks.
Delivery options
No-code (Link Generator) — generate assessment links in Beacon and distribute directly to users. No development required. Best for pilots, testing, or non-technical teams.
API integration — create sessions programmatically, embed the assessment in your existing application flow, and receive results via webhooks. Required for production-scale deployments.
Where it fits
The assessment sits within your existing application or onboarding journey — typically at the pre-decision stage. It is designed to complement your existing data sources, not replace them.
